About the project

Overview: In 2014, I volunteered with The Salvation Army in Africa, where I recorded and edited promotional videos to raise awareness for their international development projects. My work primarily focused on creating content to support fundraising campaigns that ultimately raised over £30,000 for the cause.

Challenges: The goal was to effectively communicate the impact of The Salvation Army’s work in challenging environments, using basic equipment, including a handheld camera and laptop. The challenge was to create high-quality content with limited resources that would engage viewers and encourage donations.

Solution: I captured compelling footage that showcased The Salvation Army’s international development efforts, creating emotionally resonant videos that highlighted their work on the ground. The videos were tailored to support specific fundraising campaigns, using clear messaging and impactful visuals.

Results: The promotional videos played a key role in raising funds for the projects, with the campaigns generating over £30,000. The use of raw, authentic footage helped convey the organisation's mission and contributed to a successful fundraising effort, even with minimal production resources.
