About the project
Overview
I began my journey with Media 10 as an Events Features Assistant, helping to coordinate the visitor attractions for the Ideal Home Show portfolio. Over time, my role grew to Show Coordinator, where I had the opportunity to oversee a wide range of major features across the Ideal Home Show (London, Manchester, Scotland) and its Christmas editions. My involvement also extended to This Morning Live, where I played a key role in the show's design and live event management in collaboration with ITV.
Challenges
Initially tasked with coordinating several features within the Ideal Home Show, my responsibilities grew to include the design and management of key attractions such as the Main Stage, Food and Drink Theatre, A La Carte Restaurants, and the Feel Good Stage. As the show portfolio expanded, I had to manage these features across multiple locations while ensuring they were delivered to the highest standards.
For This Morning Live, the challenge was to design the entire exhibition in close consultation with ITV, ensuring that it reflected the This Morning brand while meeting sponsor expectations. This required constant communication with ITV stakeholders, as well as managing a large team of staff and contractors on-site.
Solution
I worked collaboratively with the ITV team, ensuring every aspect of This Morning Live was in line with their vision, from show design to exhibition layout. I also created new features and managed existing ones at the Ideal Home Show, ensuring that every visitor attraction was engaging and met the brand’s standards. This included designing elements such as the Rose Bar and visitor photo opportunities.
Throughout all events, I coordinated with suppliers, contractors, and sponsors to ensure that all logistics were handled smoothly, and all teams were aligned. My role as Show Coordinator allowed me to be the key point of contact for all departments, ensuring the seamless integration of different event elements.
Results
The launch of This Morning Live was highly successful and led to subsequent events, while the Ideal Home Show saw its largest-ever attendance during my tenure. My ability to manage and coordinate large-scale events was showcased across various exhibitions, including Grand Designs Live, 100% Optical, 100% Design, and Cake and Bake Show. My work on these events helped establish a smooth-running process for delivering multiple shows, increasing efficiency and ensuring high-quality, memorable experiences.
